	Policy Service & Claims Letter & Check SPECTRUM-Modifile Secure Payment Authentication System Network Case Study		Secure Payment Authentication System Domain: Retail Banking Category: Development Client Description: The client is a multi-billion dollar organization manufacturing and marketing IT security equipment for the banking and financial industry. Requirement: The client wanted a stand-alone system for validating Message Authentication Codes (MACs) for payment messages. This was to prevent alteration of the message while in transit.		Solution: Our partner developed the system in VC++ using Object-Oriented Methodology as it gave the benefits of re-usability of code, easy customization from the standard version to specific version at later dates and easy extensibility of features of the system to similar line of products. The solution secured the messages by adding a unique electronic signature to the message. The software sets up a communication interface between the PC based Security Module (PCSM) and the Host Security Module (HSM} to authenticate users who accessed the system using smartcards.
